EDIT 1: Now officially official/original (one or the other? Both? I guess that works) soundtrack of the Dino Attack RPG. The fourth, I think. Woo.
Here we are again. It's always such a pleasure.
Here I am again with another mixing of music. This one is, in fact, not apart of the other thing I posted forever (I've only now going back through and fixing some kinks). Though the subject matter remains the same: Dino Attack RPG and Zachary's (not me Zach but a character Zach's) exploits on Adventurers' Island.
This could be a prelude to that other thing I'm working on. This represents one of Zach's many trips through the XERRD Fortress on Adventurers' Island, this time in the thick of battle between XERRD and Dino Attack.
The idea to create this mostly came from listening to Ayreon's new album "The Theory of Everything" (a concept album with, if you know what the ToE is, science/physics undertones.) Listening to the entirely orchestral track "String Theory" over and over again inspired me to throw this together. In contrast to the other mix, this one is more electronic and ambient in nature due to the sciency nature of XERRD.
Also I took to using tracks featured in VezonWireless's Dino Attack Official Soundtrack to represent certain scenes ("The Professor's Theme" for XERRD, "Beach Dead" for the battle in general, etc.)
I mostly like how this turned out, but of course, I thought some parts could have been executed better. Comments/Praise/Criticism welcome.
0:00 - 0:35 acts as the "prelude;" setting the stage. The Dino Attack is assaulting XERRD's fort deep within the jungles of Adventurers' Island. In the midst of this attack, Zachary Virchaus joins the offense in his Urban Avenger...
0:36 - 4:15 ...and promptly crashes it into the fortress. He feigns death to a guard before killing him, taking his uniform, and racing into the fortress. He rushes through the fortress as his allies fight against XERRD only to...
4:16 - 6:08 ...bump into Doctor Carolyne Provencal, a high ranking scientist in XERRD's ranks. This section (and the next) more or less acts as the theme of Carolyne Provencal. Its mysterious opening is contrasted when Provencal suddenly appears to mean no harm. She guides Zach to her lab and...
6:09 - 8:30 ...drops her "Nice Gal" ruse with the meaningful appearance of "Caroline Deleted" and "The Professor's Theme" XERRD's evil theme. She threatens to inject Zachary with the Maelstrom. He attempts to fight back, but is surprisingly overwhelmed by the scientist. The fight and the moments leading up to the titular injection are represented by "String Theory" accompanied by "Transformation", a lighter, single violin version of the "String Theory" melody. "String Theory" (along with "Side Effects", to an extent) act as the single song/leitmotif of Carolyne Provencal.
8:31 - 11:02 The Maelstrom was injected into Zach bloodstream. He is released by Provencal and rushes out of the fortress, only to be goaded by two guards mocking his fight. He kills the two before fleeing into the jungle alone to prevent himself from causing any harm.
